House of Grace “Sponsor-A-Child”
Our God is such an awesome God. And He has blessed us so much this year. The “House of Grace” There we have mothers with children and abandoned children. Currently, we have 18 children ranging from 2 ½ weeks old to 12 years old. In the past 4 months 3 beautiful baby boys have been born into the house. Its fun to see the different personalities of all the kids, especially the younger ones.
It’s impossible not to love them all, which is what we do. We try and love them the way our heavenly father loves us. They all come from different situations. From mothers using drugs or in prostitution to fathers who just aren’t able to care for them. One story for example: We have a young mother who is 21 years old. She has grown up in orphanages because her parents weren’t able to care for her. At 20 she got pregnant. With the father of the baby out of the picture, and no where to go she came to us. She arrived here when she was 6 months pregnant. Now she has a 3 month old little boy who she is learning how to raise. As a young mother she has a lot to learn. But that’s why we are there to help. They all just need to be loved, to be accepted, and to have security.
This is something the ¨House of Grace¨ provides. It’s not just a house. It’s a home. Something most of these children have never really had. They all have physical needs like clothing, food, school…etc. It’s crazy to think we support so many people… Our heavenly father is pretty amazing, huh? He always provides.
What I am praying for is that God lay on your hearts to do something extra this Christmas! Would you consider sponsoring a child? Well, I have 24 beautiful children who would be blessed to have a sponsor. Blessed to know that someone outside of their church, outside of their country cares about them and is praying for them. With your help there is hope and a future for these children. You will be helping us break the chains that enslave so many.
We need $25 a month per child for school or baby formula. You will be sent a picture and a story about that child. Please send your monthly sponsorship funds to:
La Roca Ministries, 2830 Leonard St, National City, CA 91950.
Please indicate House of Grace Sponsorship on your check. Thank you for helping these children that God has brought into this world.

The Children of the “House of Grace”
Please keep these families in your prayers while they start over. Pray that they will not fall into their old ways. That they will make wise decisions and stay in the Word.
Crystal is 5 years old and Vanessa is 3. They have been with us for a few weeks now. They were brought to us because their mother uses drugs and was living in an abandoned house. They were with their dad for a short time but he was also using drugs and was not caring for them properly. One day he left them all day alone with their 1 year old sister. Someone from the institute came by and took them from him. However, they didn’t have a place for the 3 of them so they brought the older 2 to us and are caring for the youngest girl. They both enjoy painting and taking care of each other.
Brenda Ochoa, Alexander Ochoa, and Mariah Ochoa
These brother and sisters have been with us for a few weeks now. Brenda is 8, Alexander is 5 and Mariah is 3 years old. They are at the house of grace with their mother. Because of the economy their situation is not stable and at times they didn’t have money to eat. Her husband is trying to find work so that he can pay for a place where they can all live securely. Brenda enjoys drawing and playing with the other kids. Alexander likes to play anything and take things apart. Mariah likes to play with dolls and the babies.
Maria Alejandra Rodriguez
Maria is 3 years old. She and her brother were living in the streets with their father. Their mother left them shortly after their father broke his ankle, which resulted in losing his job, making it impossible to care for them. Their father made the decision to leave them with us after being told by the police that if he did not find a safe place for his children they would have to take them away. The father is staying at the La Roca shelter. Maria is very affectionate and likes to play with the babies.
Jorge Alberto Rodriguez
Jorge is 4 years old. He and his sister were living in the streets with their father. Their mother left them shortly after their father broke his ankle, which resulted in losing his job, making it impossible to care for them. Their father made the decision to leave them with us after being told by the police that if he did not find a safe place for his children they would have to take them away. The father is staying at the La Roca shelter. Jorge really enjoys playing with little cars. But he just loves to play in general.
Kevin is 9 years old and in the 2nd grade. His grandmother was raising him and his siblings at the old dump site. His father left them while they were very young and his mother was in prison. Kevin started using drugs and that is when his grandmother acted in seeking help for him. He was going to go to Ensenada alone. But they came to us and asked for help. Kevin likes to play soccer but loves sports in general. Update: His mother was released from prison some time back. And Kevin left the House of Grace to live with his family again. Update: Kevin’s mother Perla, was release from prison and he went back home with her mother. In January both grandmother and Perla asked for Kevin back. Please pray for Perla and her family; she has 3 other children beside Kevin. Update: Things unfortunately didn’t work out as hoped for. His father is back in jail and his mother is struggling with drugs. His grandmother decided to bring him back to us. We missed him greatly and accepted him with open arms.

Sofia’s father used drugs and would drink. He would hit Michel. Their mother smoked and was verbally abusive. So, Michel ran away from home. Michel has been with us about 2 months. Sofia continued to be with her parents for a while longer. However, they had been living in hotels since they don’t have a house. And now Sofia is with us as well. She has been with us for 1 month now. Michel enjoys drawing/painting and writing. And Sofia enjoys playing anything, but especially likes barbies.

Youth Girls of the “House of Grace”
Please keep these teen girls in your prayers while they struggle to make it to adulthood. Pray that they will not fall into the ways of their parents and relatives. That they will make wise decisions and stay in the Word.
Yajaira is 17 years old and has been with us for 2 years now. Before coming to La Roca she was at another orphanage where she was left by her mother. Yajira’s mother was using drugs and could not care for her, while her step father was abusing her. The orphanage called us when she became unmanageable. Yajaira now is a straight A student, sings on the praise team and is involved in our bible school.
Esmeralda is 15 years old. Her and her younger brother Angel have been with us for 7 months. Their mother was leaving them home alone all week to care for themselves so that she could go and work. She heard about La Roca and brought the kids to us. Fortunately, they are able to stay with their mom on the weekends to spend time with her. And they spend the week with us. Esmeralda enjoys drawing and is involved in our bible school.
Yadira is 16 years old and has been with us for 6 months. Yadira has been in and out of orphanages since she was very young. Her mother was involved in drugs and was never around. At the last orphanage she was being rebellious and there were some problems, so they called Sylvia (the house of grace director). Yadira enjoys singing and sings on the praise team at church.
Areli is 14 years old and has been with us 3 weeks. She has been in orphanages her whole life. Her mother was involved in drugs and could not care for her. At her previous orphanage she wasn’t minding very well and so they got in contact with us since her sister, Yadaira is with us, and we took her in.
As you can see, we work with those who are having problems in other ministries as well with those who are in the streets! Pray for us to never lose heart, for those who are rebellious and carry resentment and hatred in their hearts. As so many of us once did!
