Faith Giving to Pay for La Roca Church
By Faith We Will Own Our Church Building”. Friends of La Roca, We hope that this summer has been filled with great rest, fun, and lots of sun for you! Here at La Roca, we find ourselves in an exciting season and wanted to share with you something that God has put on our hearts.
As you may know, over the past 8 years, we experienced growth in many ways and our ministry facilities limited us in what we could do in part due to lack of space. In mid-2009 we experienced God’s favor as we were able to move from our original church facility in the Zona Norte of Tijuana to rent (with an option to purchase) a much larger facility about 5 blocks away. This new location has proven to be a great blessing, allowing us to expand our ministry in unprecedented ways and is needed for continued growth.
Recently, we sensed God calling us to take a step of faith and pursue the purchase of the church building that we are currently renting. As we’ve prayed we believe God is calling us to take steps of faith to raise a total of $225,000 over three years. Why three years? Let us tell you . . .

I would like to say thanks for making this possible! Through your prayers and support we are able to continually work with what God has called us to do, without neglecting our family! I am so proud of my daughter and we all love her! I praise God for her commitment to follow Jesus and the love she has for the church. Again, I wish you all could have been there and forgive us for those we forgot to invite! We love you all and again thanks a million, In His Passion, Carlos, Rossy and the whole La Roca family!
La Roca Church is Overflowing and We Need Your Help
Church Service
God is blessing us abundantly. After being able to secure our current building with an affordable lease we began refurbishing the bottom floor of our two story building. Opening day was more than we expected and since then God continues to bring new people and members. Now in less than six months we have max’ed-out our bottom floor ministry capacity and we need to refurbish our top floor. We desperately need space for youth meetings, Sunday School classes, and ministry meetings. Please, please consider helping us expand our top floor. Contact us as soon as you can to discuss what you can do. The people of Tijuana need Jesus and He is bringing them at a rapid pace. Please partner with us.
Opening Day for our new Church location
The opening of the new church location was a big success, we had 230 people show up, 80 more than usual for our first Sunday service. The place was beautiful thanks to my wife Rossy, and the many wonderful volunteers who worked long hours making sure everything was in the right place.
We had many new people from the community which was very exciting to see. This of course for us was a miracle with such a small church and many of our members coming from a lower class and workers from the dump community. We can only Praise God, for we have nothing to boast about! But only in Christ Jesus and the cross where He purchased us with His blood.
- Our youth group will meet every Friday night at 7 p.m.
- The church will open up its doors to shelter 40 men every night, starting at 5p.m. to 7 a.m.
- Every Tuesday, prayer service at 6 p.m.
- Every Wednesday, bible school from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Every Sunday, general service at 11 a.m
The “New” Church of La Roca Ministries – Opening Day
New Church Location – Help Us Worship Here
Here are pictures of our new Church location. This new church location will help us bring together our organization by bringing our offices, bible school, counseling and of course our Sunday school all under the same roof. Also this new location would allow us to expand beyond where we are now. We house 40 men per night, with this location we could expand to over 100 per night.
The building that we are in now can only hold our current congregation of 160 people, with the new location we could seat up to 500 people. This location will allow us to have our own parking. But most important, we would be able to reach our community by having the space to teach English, computer classes as well as to have a daycare. This would allow us to better serve our community in which God has called us to.
The price of this location is $219,000.00, with a 30 percent deposit which equals to $65,700 and $1,257.14 dollars per month. Please pray how you can help trust God in using you to help us acquire and move into this location.
Our kids have to walk down stairs and cross the street to go to Sunday school, rain or shine. This new location would help us grow by keeping our children under the same roof. So would you all help us pray for God to move on His people to keep expanding His kingdom. Carlos

La Roca Ministries reaches out to touch people’s lives that are devastated by poverty, neglect and despair. These people find themselves enslaved to drugs and alcohol and living in the streets of Tijuana, Mexico. Our desire is to mirror Christ’s compassion and concern to these people.
It has been said, “give a person a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a life.” We believed in “teaching people how to fish”. We want to see lives transformed and we believe that comes through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Our program seeks to help rebuild lives by making disciples; raising up men, women and teens as future leaders and missionaries, and sending them forth to advance the Kingdom of God on earth.

My name is Amanda and I am 22 years old. I have been coming to Tj since I was 14. I came down here last month (January) to stay for a year. Its amazing being here and watching people’s lives being changed by the various ministries. I am so blessed to be here. I know a lot of people worry about the violence and decide not to come. But there is no reason to be afraid. Out of all the times I’ve been down here, I’ve never had a problem with anything. We’ve actually gone to the beach in the evening had a small worship service before. You shouldn’t wander off alone to late, but it’s not like you should do that in any city. I’m more scared when I’m wandering around my own city at night then I am here. All I know is that God called me here, and nothing will stop me because I have him on my side. There is a phrase I keep posted that says, “Fear knocked at the door, and faith answered, there was no one there.” What more is there to say ?
