January 2020 Newsletter

Greeting to all!

We are so excited and a little anxious as I write this newsletter. Our daughter Christina is expecting to give birth late night or early tomorrow morning! She has been a brave girl enduring all she has had to go through!

God has personally been taking care of her!  I am so thankful to God for His faithfulness! All I can say: “Keep your eyes upon Jesus the author of our faith!” Please be praying for her and us as we enter this New Year with excitement and new challenges!

Update, Christina has just given birth to a precious 8.2-pound girl! Her name is Hadassah, which means compassion! We are so excited!

On a sad note, our dear brother Juan Carlos, my mother’s helper in the donation department, passed away all of a sudden. This changes things somewhat for all of us! My mother, who was considering retiring to Costa Rica, well, those plans have changed!

My mother, who is still strong, is willing to continue working till she is unable to do so! We thank David and Phil for stepping up to the plate helping us get donations across the border!

Now we find ourselves shorthanded in the donations department! Please keep us in your prayers as we get all things in order!

We are celebrating Maria’s birthday! She has been faithfully serving our Orphanage, the House of Grace, for thirteen years!

All the children love her and many call her mother! This itself is a tribute and shows the great work she is doing together with the rest of the staff!

Please pray for our staff!  Here are their pictures and the number of years they have served including both the House of Grace and our teenage Boy’s Dorm!

Update from Sonora!

We are excited to finally have our electrical being put in! Shortly we will have lights and most important for this coming summer, air conditioning!

Also we have had many events at our Sonora location including participation with the communities around us!

Our shelter, for Travers coming down from the mountains, is operational! Children are coming in from the community for the feeding program and also many are attending our kids club.

We also have 13 full time students in seminary learning from their teacher Itzel! She is doing a great job both as Teacher and Cook. She is doing it all!

We are sending 3 of our seminary students to Sonora this summer for 3 months to help support our mission effort!

If anybody might be interested in going with our mission team, please let us know!

Our 2020 goal for Sonora is planning trips to the natives living up in the mountains. These trips into the mountains can take from 1 to 7 hours of hiking, no cars can get in! Please pray with us as we start planning to reach the un-reached.  This is going to be another exciting year!  We trust God to make this possible!  Can’t wait!

We also want to announce to winner of to quilt, her name is Bonnie Trojanowski from Michigan, Grand Rapids. We want to thank all of you who participated!

Thanks for your faithfulness that comes in so many ways! Thanks for your love that goes to all the people we minister to each day!

May you all have a wonderful Valentina’s day, with friends and love ones!

From all of us here at La Roca ministries, with love!
