For Groups and Volunteers!

This is how a week will look like in most cases, and of course room for changes to fit the needs of each group!

First we have been serving in San Diego, CA & Tijuana, Mexico for over 26 years, with much passion and love towards those who have no hope and find themselves in despair! We show them the Love of Christ through His Word and through service!

Monday – Go to the market and buy the produce and fruit to make lunch bags! These same bags will be passed out at the dump, where we will see the workers sorting through the garbage for their next meal or things for recycling!

We will walk in like Jesus did, not waiting for them to come to us! We will go to them and pass out lunch bags to each person, making eye contact and hand contact and praying for each one of them!

And after we are done, we will go to the community called La Esperanza, where we have church lead by Pastor Julian. There we will go from house to house passing our fruit bags to each person and praying for each person we find!

For those who want to have a small service at the church with its members would be a great blessing! It’s something you will never forget!

Some groups might want to build a small house 8 x 12 there for somebody, so as you see, this is easily as full day!

Tuesday - for those staying with us, early breakfast and morning devoting! Then get ready to go to our Orphanage, which is only 15 minutes away! Where we will get ready to have games and V.B.S.

Do some small projects like painting outside or inside. With so many kids, a fresh cloth of paint will be a great blessing!

Lunch, in most cases group order pizza or buy carne asada for tacos. Either way the kids love them both!

During lunch we all will sit down together and share some testimonies, or words of encouragement! After we are done, back to the project or play time or whatever needs to be done!

After we are done, we get ready to go and serve at our shelter! Dinner gets served at 6pm. So we are there around 5:30 to help get thing ready, to start serving. At 7 pm, we ask if somebody in the group would like to share the Word or a word of encouragement, and then finish by praying for the men!

Drive back to the mission center for dinner and have devotion and debrief on the day! Like your high points and low points!

Wednesday kids club at 5pm, go and buy what needs to be purchased, then go to the church early to prepare for the event. While we are there we could paint or whatever needs to be done. If the group has songs to sing or plays it would be a great time to rehearse.

Thursday – Again up for breakfast 8am and devotion to get the group ready of the day! Go to the market or Costco to buy food for the La Roca Ranch! We will bring a nice surprise lunch for the men. Where we will sit together and eat together sharing stories of how God has changed lives! And last, the hearing of the men signing together, that will rock your house!

Anyways, we will work cleaning or building, we will play volleyball together! And for those who want to stay late, a bonfire with marshmallows! To be honest, it’s one of my favorite days!

For those who want to get back early and help with the kids club at 5pm at La Roca church!

Thursday, for those who want to take a day off for shopping and getting to know Tijuana this day could be taken. But for those who want to continue to work, so be it!

For those who want to go the red light district, to pass out tracks and pray for the women in prostitution or just to do a prayer walk as a group!

After we are done, we can take the kids of the Orphanage to the beach, to have a late lunch or vice versa.

Friday - Do an outreach for kids at Delicias, like a small carnival or do one in the Zona Norte. With food and games and the preaching and teaching of God’s Word!

Please remember this is only an example of how a week could look like! Things can be easily changed to fit the agenda of each group.  Hope this helps, but if you have any concerns or you might have a particular projects in mind, please let us know at our email. salmos18@yahoo.com
