February 2023 Newsletter

As we look back, we see another year full of God’s faithfulness! We want to thank each one of you for your prayers, support and encouragement! Words are so inadequate, but God knows how grateful we are for all your faithful support and commitment!

Update on the ministries throughout Mexico.

Our kid’s clubs are continuing to grow strong in Tijuana as well as Sonora and Oaxaca. In Oaxaca the number of kids attending has grown from 15 to 40 and still growing!

Our missionaries, Juan and Olga, continue to be effective with parents so more and more kids are beginning to attend. In this culture everybody is hard working. There is not much room for hugs and hand holding or much affection! So, keep Juan in your prayers as he lives in a culture that is not his own!

We are in desperate need of a good pickup truck for our missionaries; they are more than 4 hours away from town. The roads are full of curves and many steep hills, by the time you get to your destination, you are dizzy and feel like throwing up! This road can be quite frightening for those traveling for the first time!

Juan and Olga travel this road once a month, to go into town to withdraw funds from the bank so they can purchase food and the many other items needed for the children and the ministry.

In Tijuana, our kid’s club and youth groups have opened with strong numbers and with much excitement.

Pastor Alex and Anahi, as well as Santiago and His wife Elvia are doing a great job. Please keep these two couples in your prayers as they are wearing many hats! They are hardworking with commitment and passion for our Lord Jesus! But to be honest, so is the whole La Roca staff and team!

Our women’s discipleship home has been very fruitful in such a short time! But the real reason for their success is the hard work done by our evangelism team, led by Mari! They go out into the red-light district twice a week and have gotten to know most of the women and their children by name!

One of the ladies has started in her own home a sewing class! We provided her with both a laptop and a sewing machine and she quickly started putting into practice what she has learned from our team!

Another young lady has become a Homecare Provider for senior citizens. She will be graduating later this year from nursing school!

But her deep desire is to join the La Roca team so that she can reach out to help other young ladies as herself. She has already teamed up with Mari, ministering on the streets bring the Gospel to all those working in the red-light district!

All the women on the street know her and we are excited to see how God is going to use her. We are going to underwrite her schooling in counseling so she can become a fulltime member our La Roca team a.s.a.p.

Another one of our young ladies is taking sewing classes and wants to open her own store selling her very own line of clothing, as well as alterations for the public! She is learning quickly and is very eager to reach her goal!

We have two new young ladies who have come seeking help so that they can get out of the prostitution lifestyle! Pray for my wife Rossy, Elizabeth and Lizabeth, and Mari. God has started a great movement using these four godly Women for His Glory! Pray for their wisdom and discernment.

So much to tell, but here is one more for the road. His name is Daniel and he has just finished our program at our discipleship ranch and has begun our bible school! He is starting to serve with our youth at the orphanage alongside Arthur, whom he has been faithfully serving, just waiting for someone to come along by his side! That day has finely arrived!

Daniel is only twenty-four years old, but when you hear his story, its sound like he’s in his late 30’s. The Lord has changed his life from the inside out, and Danielle has dedicated himself to serve the Lord with all his strength!

Great News, we have an additional family member, a grandson named David, only 1 ½ months. Hadassah and David are doing a very good job keeping us very busy! Here is a picture of when David arrived home the first day! Keeps in your prayers!

Again, we thank you all your prayers and support, that keeps us trucking on! You are all very much loved and appreciated! You are all very much part of La Roca family!

In His Love and Truth, Carlos and Rossy and the rest of La Roca team!
