Greetings in the precious name of Jesus Christ!
I hope everyone had a great and meaningful Easter, reflecting on what Jesus Christ did for all of us! Amen!
I have some GREAT NEWS – but it comes with an urgency that I was not expecting!
The good news is that we have finely made our first payment of $110,000 for purchasing the church, shelter, and headquarters for La Roca Ministries! The total price for the purchase is $310,000. We have another $110,000 in our account, leaving us with a remaining balance of $90,000 needed for the purchase, plus an additional $25,000 for attorney fees, closing costs, the transfer of title, and property tax, additional $30,000.
It has been a long wait. To be more specific, it's been over ten years! But the lawyers have finally gotten all the legal paperwork in line. I was in the bank in the USA while Rossy was in Tijuana with the lawyers waiting for the owner to show up. I was anxious since the owner had yet to show up and we had tried many other times and were unsuccessful. But I thought, "Now, this could be the moment!" – and it was! Praise unto God! The papers were signed, and the deposit of $110,000 was transferred.
But here is where the urgency comes in. I thought we would have up to a year to raise the remaining $145,000, but to my surprise, we were told it would be needed in three to four months! So that is why I am writing this letter with some urgency, knowing that the time to raise these funds is short! And I would hate to be so close to the purchase and have it fall through now!
Please help us to continue to help so many people of all ages in this beautiful location that God has placed into our hands! Any small contribution helps!
For those who are unsure what we do in this location, please let me list some of the ministry that goes on here.
• This location serves as our headquarters for ministry
• This location is the meeting place for the Community La Roca Del Alfarero church
• This location is where we have the men's shelter, which can hold 150 men per night on the second floor
• This location is where we have our Bible school on Mondays, women's Bibles classes on Wednesdays, and our kid's club, which also meets on Wednesdays
• This location is where we have our youth group every Saturday
• This location is where we have our women's and men's breakfast and worship every 3rd and 4th Saturday of the month
• And so much more!
As you can see, we keep busy at this location, which is why it is essential.
Thank you all who are going to give towards this major purchase in advance! We have not or could not do it without every single one of you! Thank you for your partnership, prayers, and support that allows us to help so many people from all walks of life.
We serve broken people, giving them a place to call home, where they can grow spiritually, receive a warm meal, and so much more. I cannot say it enough – thank you for being the hands of Jesus.
