February 2024 Newsletter

Greetings to all!

May His grace minister to your needs as He provides continuous growth in ministry and to those in need!

We are well into February and looking forward to our ministries continually opening up and growing. Our Lord continues to bless with new assignments and opportunities for us and for fellow ministry servants.

We finished 2023 a little short financially since we recently had three new “add-ons” that have not yet been funded. We needed to add staff hours to current duties as well as increase staff to accomplish responsibilities we already have! Our opportunity is also your opportunity.

The first is for a driver needed for picking up donations three days a week, at $120 dollars per day.

I used to pick up and sort and deliver donations to Tijuana, and at the end of the three days I was exhausted! But now I have more time to do administration things including, buying, banking, postal services and studying for my sermons and a Bible class twice a week! And of course, visiting all our ministry sites. Additional weekly cost, $360.00.

Our second “add-on” is for our new ministry in Chiapas. We have one missionary working there with the children who is also working to establish a church plant on property donated to us! Additional weekly cost, $125.00.

Our third “add-on” is for the Women’s Academy. This location helps women get out of prostitution. We provide these needy ladies with English classes, classes for baking and nursing care plus much needed counseling! We also provide lunch for all our attendees.

In the first year of service seven women have left the street lifestyle and are following Christ Jesus! Additional weekly cost, $490.00.

An additional must “add-on” for 2024 is a home for our teenage boys who are turning 18 this year! So far, we have four and we will have another 7 turning 18 this year. Most of our 18-year-olds have been with us since they were 4 or 5 years old! So, they are family! I cannot find it in my heart to tell them they need to leave, because they have turned 18 years old. This is a time in their life when they need us most! Like we said, they are family, and we love them! So, would you please consider helping us with this major need?

We would not be considering this unless it were of major importance. We know God is faithful and so we need to share with you these needs as we look forward into 2024. So, please join us in prayer, as we seek God in this great need! Looking at the first year we will need $25,000 dollars.

House of Grace. In January we received 3 new children, and now for the month of February we have receive two more!

Nathalia, left by her mother who is not able to take care of her for now, she is 13 years old! Alegna, who is 6 years old, was brought to us by her mother. They lived in a dangerous village near the dump where there are lots of drugs and much violence. Obviously, the mother wants a better life for her daughter! Please keep these in your prayers, that they will be able to adjust to their new home and able to focus on their studies!

The Ranch. Continues to grow, as always! Beautiful with all the rain, but at the same time causing us problems with mud slides. This created lots of work to keep the roads open. But thanks to all our hard-working men, there is no work too hard for them!

And we want to finish with some good news, Felipe and Debora have gotten engaged. Felipe is one of our directors at the shelter and Debra is one of our staff at the House of Grace. Great to see two wonderful committed servants of God becoming engaged and wanting to serve our Lord together! They will be getting married this year. Will keep you informed!

Again, thank you all for being part of La Roca family and for your support and prayers all these years!

We love you all and would love to see you all in person, but we know this is almost impossible, at least for now! Thank you for being part of our family!

Your friends and missionaries.

Carlos and Rossy Montoya and the rest of La Roca team!
