March 2020 Newsletter
Greetings to all!
Our hopes and plans for 2020 have vanished almost overnight! We had plans for La Roca to continue to grow in the state of Sonora. Weddings to do and many other goals to accomplish in 2020 but instead, we need to pray and ask for help, your help!
Our calling is more pressing than ever in our global community. These virus days are challenging all of us to be more flexible and prayerful!
First, thank you for reading our April Newsletter. We all are getting bombarded with petitions, propaganda and information!
It’s alarming, to see the virus continuing to spread more and more each day! As you know we are all hard at work, especially in this current situation we all are enduring! We are just the laborers doing the task set before us.
We are inviting you also to participate with us so we can continue supplying food and protective shelter to our vulnerable people.
One group extremely vulnerable is our senior citizens! Some seniors are living on $100 dollars a month and even less, nowhere near what they need to survive! There is no stimulus package here in Mexico or much of any other help so far!
Our seniors are also helplessly at risk on the streets. Many are not going out to do their own shopping, and rightly so!
In addition to this, many grocery stores and other outlets have increased their prices more than 100% making food and other products unavailable or out of reach for many in our senior population.
We are raising additional funding to address this new and pressing need.
This is in addition to our continuing ministry of providing food to not only our senior citizens, who are in great need, but also the orphanage, the shelter for men and women, our rehabilitation center, the dump and last but not least, it is also effecting us in Sonora.
Can you join us by becoming part of this endeavor (blessing) and providing economic support so that we can provide food to these needy people during these very difficult times!
We are all needing to cut back, now is not a good time to ask but now is also the time of great need here at La Roca! Please be praying for us during these pressing hours!
I also write now with a heavy heart, finding myself needing to avoid exposure to our own children at the orphanage. I have informed staff and our kids that I will no longer be able to go inside the house!
As I started to explain this to them, I could not hold back my tears and I had to grasp for air to get a grip of myself to finish explaining that I was a high risk! I told them I loved them so much, and could not wait till these days pass by!
I explained that I am a high risk because I cross the border on a regular scheduled bases picking up donations, banking, shopping, going to the Post Office and so much more!
These details must get done, they are essential to keeping the ministry doors open! We have hundreds of people depending on us!
Please pray, for our pastors, and all the other pastors out there doing their job of visiting, praying and meeting the needs of others in these crazy times of risk! These are the heroes of our Christian faith! Below are picture of our pastoral staff. Again, please keep them in your prayers.
So, thank you so much for considering becoming part of the solution to this great crisis we are all going through!
Please don’t forget us when you go into your room to pray!
In His Love, Carlos and Rossy and the rest of La Roca team!
