Dear friends and family

We are so excited about the beginning of this New Year, finishing 2025 strong in our activities, advancements and in the financial! Thanks to all our friends and family, as we begin this year with grateful heart and great expectation for all that God has prepared for us. We trust that He will continue to change hearts, restore families, lift the fallen, and embrace us with His love, just as He has done until now. Here are very exciting highlights, the family housing at La Roca ranch, now have the playground for the children of families, we also have finished the septic tank for the 4 houses that are there.

Women’s Academy, we are still remodeling the location for Pastries and café, and now have purchased a machine that makes 1000 tortillas per hour. We now have 11 new women that started nursery classes. Wow, what a praise report!

Shelter

A short testimony of Noé, who arrived at the shelter nine years ago. Before that, he lived in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, a border city with Texas, where he and his partner were involved in the illegal crossing of people. Financially, they were doing very well and spent seasons in Texas.

Over time, authorities were able to detain them. Both spent a period in prison and, as a result, permanently lost custody of their two children. After their release, they reunited in Mexico, but ride, anger, and pain had taken root in their hearts, and they decided to separate, each going their own way.

Noé arrived in Tijuana, hoping to cross once again into the United States to reunite with the rest of his family. He was offered the opportunity to make money from drug trafficking, but he chose not to do it and instead sought a real change in his life.

It was then that he learned about La Roca Shelter, where he found a safe place to rest. At first, his life consisted only of working and sleeping, still carrying hardness in his heart. But the difficulties overwhelmed him, and he began using drugs and alcohol.

Recognizing his need for help, Noé approached the shelter leaders and asked to be admitted to a rehabilitation center. There he began a process in which God started to work deeply in his life, trusting God and the plans He has for his future.

Currently, Noé is now a resident of our shelter community and part of the body of Christ! He is so grateful to God for this new opportunity. We ask that you keep him in your prayers, as he continues his walk in faith and restoration.

House of Grace

Jorge was rewarded for his excellent academic performance, achieving an outstanding grade point average of 9.9. He has demonstrated through effort, discipline, perseverance and dedication to study. His excellent grades reflect not only his intellectual ability, but also his commitment, responsibility, and desire for personal growth as well as spirituality!

Jorge’s achievement is an example for all young people and a reminder of the importance of continuing to support those who choose to pursue their education.

May this recognition serve as motivation for Jorge to continue the path of learning, and seeking God, and as a call for us to keep providing support, guidance, and confidence to students. Let us keep each child and young person who is studying in our prayers.

Mission Sonora

Starting this year, we are going to invest 20,000 dollars more in staff housing, volleyball court, children’s playground, shade, kitchen cabinets, mini split, and solar lights! This is to improve housing for our full-time staff, as of now they have no place they can relax and keep their things in one place, they have been moving from place to place, this will give them the peace of mind they so desperately need! The rest is to help serve those who come to our doors seeking help and refuge. Playground for our kids that come to their weekly activities, and the volleyball court for the teens that are always looking for something to do!

The desperately needed shade and additional mini split, as temperatures get over the 90´s easily into the 100’s four months a year, a cool day is in the high 70’s. One major problem that excites is the lack of water, ever since a mine opened up several years ago, there has been shortage of water, well’s empty and city water rationing, river partially dry. So please keep this in your prayers, many people are leaving because of the harsh conditions, leaving many seniors alone and abandoned!

This is where La Roca comes in, we serve the most needed, the seniors who are short of resources, and can’t get around. We bring food to them daily, for 6 days a week, we of course share God’s Word  from house to house. Sadly, our staff have found some seniors dead because of the conditions, but this only encourages us to press forward. I take my hat off to Carlos, Omar and pastor Jesus and his family, for the much-needed work that they do.

Again, thanks for your prayers and support that keeps us moving forward in what God has called us to!

In His Love and Truth

Carlos - Rossy Montoya and the rest of La Roca team.
