We are so excited to share what God continues to do. This month, we had the blessing of celebrating five baptisms and witnessing lives transformed by Him.

Florenia. - Originally from a small town in Oaxaca, Florenia struggled with alcoholism and depression from a young age. Eventually, she decided to seek God, began attending church, and gradually experienced His work in her heart.

Noemí. - A year ago, Noemí took part in a mission trip to Colombia, thinking it would be an opportunity to visit a new country. While she was there, however, God challenged her heart and showed her that He had a greater purpose for her life. She returned with a renewed mind, ready to serve Him and walk in obedience.

Francisco Javier.- For a time, Francisco Javier was trapped in drug addiction, losing his relationship with his partner, his connection with his daughter, and his home. Recognizing that he needed help, he came to the church, where Felipe told him about the Ranch. He stayed there for a while and began his journey of restoration. Later, he started working and attending church, and God gave him the opportunity to see his daughter again.

Celina.- Celina came to Tijuana seeking a better life for herself and her daughter, but God had much more in store. Here, she found a home, a family in Christ, and a church where she could grow in her faith and in her desire to learn more about His Word.

Areli.- previously attended a church in her hometown in Oaxaca. She came to Tijuana with her family seeking greater stability, but fear and insecurity often kept her from moving forward. Over time, God began teaching her to trust Him more and walk by faith.

Although each story is different, all five share something in common: God began transforming their lives, and each person chose to be baptized, publicly taking a step of faith and affirming their desire to continue walking with Him.

These five baptisms remind us that God continues to restore lives, strengthen families, and give new beginnings to those who place their trust in Him.

Alfredo Picón Chávez’s Testimony

Alfredo is originally from Michoacán and spent much of his childhood in his grandmother’s care while his parents worked in the United States, seeking better opportunities for their family.

At nine years old, he went to live with them. During his youth, however, he began making poor decisions, drifted away from school, and fell in with the wrong crowd. Eventually, he returned to the United States, where his life became increasingly consumed by drugs until he developed a severe heroin addiction.

After several arrests, he spent three years in federal prison and was later deported to Mexico. Without a home and separated from his family, he ended up living in El Bordo, where he spent nearly twenty years surviving amid addiction and life on the streets.

Then, one day, someone told him about La Roca and a God who could transform his life. With nothing to lose, he decided to go to the Ranch. That step marked a new beginning.

God began restoring his heart, his life, and his relationship with his family. After many years, he also had the blessing of seeing his mother again.

Today, Alfredo serves at the mission in Sonora, and his life is a testimony that no one is beyond God’s reach. When we place our lives in His hands, He can restore what seemed lost and give our stories a new purpose.

Each of these stories reminds us why we keep moving forward. Behind every baptism, every restored life, and every family reached, we see God’s faithfulness at work once again.

Thank you for walking alongside us, for your prayers and support, and for believing in what God is doing through La Roca. You are also part of each of these stories.

We look forward to sharing much more with you at our 4th Annual Gala, celebrating all that God has done and continuing to trust Him for the lives that will yet be transformed.

In His Love and Truth, Carlos and Rossy Montoya and the rest of La Roca team
