December 2020 Newsletter
Greetings to all!
May you all have a Merry Christmas!
Now more than ever, we need to be celebrating Christmas! We need now more than ever to turn on our Christmas lights! Let the light shine! Let us remember we are called to be light!
We, the church, need to bring light into the most darkness of places. We need to let all know we are celebrating the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ! Amen?
This world needs Jesus Christ more than ever, much more than a vaccine shot, or a stimulus check! So I say, let us rejoice! Rejoice in Emmanuel, God is with us!
This is why La Roca ministries is bringing God’s bright light into Tijuana during these dark times! People are out of work, and doing whatever they can to put food on their tables. Children in Tijuana are not going to get a Christmas tree! They are definitely not going to find gifts under their tree! We have decided to do our Christmas outreach in the Zona Norte!
Zona Norte is a local Tijuana neighborhood which is probably the largest “Red Light District” in all of North America. What better place to present Jesus Christ and the love He has for all these children. We are not going to neglect our other ministry tasks with so much hunger and need around us, but at the same time, we are planning to open a health and help center, right in the Zona Norte!
My wife Rossy, and Mari, director of the house of grace, will be heading this incredible ministry! We are hoping to bring two more women on staff, but this is still being thought out!
This incredible ministry is going to serve single mothers in prostitution! Our church is only six blocks away, right under our nose!
We must get moving, there is so much to do! Please keep us in your prayers as we move forward during these very critical times!
All other ministries are also remaining open and taking proper precautions!
Continue prayer for our outreach in Sonora. Agustin has been in Sonora for a month filing in for Itzel who is now back from vacation with family! We are also sending pastor Efren back with her because the doors for travel there are now open. We need to do this as quickly as possible before the doors close again!
Both of them are going to stay and work there with the locals and Pastor Jesus teaching the Word and serving the poor, which are many!
Sad to say, while Pastor Jesus was taking warm meals to the elders, he found one of them almost dead! He called his family but all they had to say was that they already knew! Pastor Jesus was instructed by us to call the police and ambulance. Sad to say, but our dear friend Loreto did not make it!
So more than ever, we need your prayers and support! We need to finish the year strong as we continue to expand La Roca Ministries to others states as our Father in heaven opens doors!
Many may think we are crazy! Yes, we are crazy for the Lord! And we want to be obedient to Him, taking His Gospel to all nations!
It’s like when I first started walking in faith, trusting in the Lord! Walking into drug zones or houses being used to shoot up.
Many said, “Carlos aren’t you scared!” I referred to my Marine days and said:
“If I was not scared to die for my flag and country, why would I start now being scared to die for my Lord! No never! God said He will not be ashamed of me, so I will not be ashamed of Him! No turning back, oh no, no turning back!”
The kids at the Orphanage are doing great, keeping up their studies and sports, while we go in lockdown again! Please pray for them, it’s hard for so many kids to be in lock down for so long!
I know this does not sound much like a Christmas letter, but it’s our heart! And what keeps us going, what we now live for!
So again, thank you all for your prayers and support!
From all of us here at La Roca Ministries! May you all have a wonderful, meaningful Christmas and a Happy New Years!
In His Love, Carlos and Rossy and the rest of our staff!
