May 2024 Newsletter

Greetings to all our friends and family!

We hope and pray you are all doing well, especially during these very difficult times! More than ever we need to keep our eyes on Jesus Christ of Nazareth with wars going on and new wars on the horizon.

The attacks of the enemy only seem to increase with time. Our identity as men and women are aggressively being assaulted trying to undo what God has done, creating in marriage one man and one woman!

We are the church of Christ and must not submit to the bombardment of lies from the father of lies! We are the light in the midst of darkness, continuing to do good in the middle of evil!

We need to continue specking the truth and calling people to repentance. We need to exhort people to put their trust on the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the only way to salvation! Amen!

Discipleship Recovery Ranch

Many come to us, seeking help because nobody else will receive them. Our government, instead of helping organizations like ours, makes things more difficult by not allowing programs like ours to receive handicap people. But at the same time, the government has done very little to create programs to help those with handicap needs. We have had to review our policy concerning those whom we are able to receive and those we may not receive.

For example, Carlos is one such man. Before he was deported, he was already developing problems with his arms. He has a very rare case where his ligaments in both arms started shrinking, making use of his arms more difficult to the point of hardly being able to use them!

Once again, someone from the streets referred Carlos to us and he sought us out. Andres and I were in the parking talking when Carlos found us. He immediately began pleading with us to help him because of his condition and his inability to find help anywhere else. Andres and I immediately look at each other. Andres spoke first: “What are we going to do? He is not going to be able to find help anywhere else. I know what this is going to involve, and we are willing to do what it takes.” So, I said, “OK, Andres, let’s do it.”

This is why God has raised this ministry, to help those in desperate and hopeless situations but also so they can come to know and understand the Mercy of Jesus Christ, through us!

We will be making a short video and placing it on Facebook using Carlos who speaks English very well. Carlos will be giving thanks to God and for our ministry because we gave him help when nobody else would! Weeks later, Carlos said to me, “Pastor, I don’t want any more help, you all have done so much for me. I want to become part of this great ministry and part of the church, I know God can use me as I am.” I replied, “We love to have you on our team, I can’t wait to see what God is going to do through you!” Please keep Carlos and us in your prayers.

Orphanage

We received a young girl named Luna who is 14 years old. When I first met her, she was ice cold and would not even smile. As time went by, she saw me come and hug all the boys and girls and she saw them hug me back calling me pastor, uncle and sometimes pa. Soon she started to soften up and allow me to hug her too. Then she started smiling and talking to me.

Luna slowly began opening up to Mary, the director, telling her about the horror of her background. She was abused and led into selling drugs and so on. She has problems with urinating at night and seems to shut off and on.

We are sharing her story so that you can be praying, not only for her, but that our Lord will give us the wisdom and opportunities to acquire the best possible help for her special situation. We are also required to share her situation with the local authorities. We hope you will pray with us for 14-year-old Luna.

Pray also for our orphanage team and the children they teach to follow our faithful Lord God.

Again, thanks for your support and prayers that allow us to help people from all walks of life and present them to the helper and healer of all, and His Name is Jesus Christ!

Thanks for being part of this wonderful family in which together we can accomplish much!

In His Love and Truth, Carlos and Rossy and the rest of the La Roca family.
