June 2024 Newsletter
Greetings to all our friends and family!
I hope you all are doing well and at the same time had the chance to meditate on all our fallen heroes who gave their all for our freedom!
At the same time, I wish there was a day to help us remember all those who gave their all for the advancement of the Gospel! All those who bravely were willing to take the Gospel to all nations, regardless of the danger!
We at La Roca, strive to get prepared and equipped to go wherever the Holy Spirit leads us, taking the Gospel to all places. As you already know, we are in four states of Mexico and we don’t know how and when God will take us outside of Mexico, but we know without any doubt that, that is the will of our Heavenly Father! So please keep us in your prayers for more committed believers, volunteers, and funds to make this possible!
House of Grace
In our last letter I mentioned Luna, who came to us with an ice-cold attitude, not willing to smile, talk or hug anybody and who can blame her, after what she has gone through. But now after a couple of months, she is talking, smiling, and hugging, and going to school, what an answer to prayers. The staff are doing a great job, but we need more volunteers, anybody up for the call.
Men’s shelter
Continues to be one of the safest and cheapest shelters in Tijuana. For those who do not know, we shelter 150 men from all ages and Nationalities. Helping them get established and direct them where to go for their birth certificates and I. D’s and, most important, we help them with their anxieties and pain! We of course take advantage of reaching all of them with the Gospel, and what better place to do this!
Also, wonderful news, Felipe one of our directors from the men’s shelter is getting married with Debora who has been working at the orphanage for several years. Their special date is June 22nd of this year, please keep them both in your prayers, for both are very special, to us and to the ministry.
Tijuana dump ministry
Pastor Julian doing a great job and our volunteer staff. As they continue to help with the needs of the people of this community. By giving them free drinking and bathing water, and a small breakfast and lunch for the children and workers! But the most important thing, sharing the Gospel and making disciples! We now have one brother named Omar, that travels 2 hours to come to our bible school on Mondays and goes back on Tuesday. Now that’s commitment!
Women’s academy
A short testimony from Jannet who started in prostitution May of last year and was invited to the women’s academy, shortly after starting to work in the Zona Norte!
Her thoughts were of doubt as our team approached her while working, and she had a hard time believe anything that they had to say! But something compelled her to go. “I was greeted by sister Liz, which was a delight, being so patient and loving with me. I was offered lunch and support, which is what I needed so desperately. God through this ministry and sister Rossy, who was always ready to listen to me, brought me comfort and peace”.
Sadly, she stated, I will no longer be able to attend classes at the academy, because thanks to God I have been able to get a job in construction planning! But you can count on me being there for church service. I am so grateful for the help you all gave me, and was able to leave such a horrible life, into a whole new life in Jesus Christ, Jannet.
Family news
Our daughter Christina just got marriage this month with her husband Jonas and are now living at the ranch with their son David. Please keep them in your prayers that they both keep focus on what God has called them too! Jonas is a student in our bible school and is serving full time at our discipleship recovery ranch. He is fully commitment to his calling, and he says he is in for the long haul, What a praise report!
Our youngest, Karla, is keeping busy with college, studying world business, and working part-time at In-n-out burger. She is keeping up with her grades, averaging with a 9.8 out of 10. We are all proud of her!
Again, thanks for your support and prayers, as we together advance God’s kingdom through His Gospel, making disciples of all people!
Thanks for being part of La Roca family!
In His Love and Truth!
Your missionaries Carlos and Rossy and the rest of our wonderful staff!
