Dear La Roca Family

This month, we want to share stories that fill our hearts with gratitude and remind us that God continues to work in extraordinary ways. We have celebrated graduations, grown families, and completely restored lives, while also lovingly accompanying those who have reached the end of their journey.

We had the joy of celebrating a very special achievement: the graduation of some of our young people. For us, seeing them complete this chapter represents much more than an academic accomplishment. We have had the privilege of walking alongside them, watching them grow, and witnessing how hard they have worked to reach their goals. Moments like these remind us of the importance of continuing to create opportunities for our young people to prepare themselves and build a future filled with hope.

The good news continues! We are overjoyed to celebrate that these four men who have begun a beautiful new chapter in their lives: they are now fathers. We pray that God will give them wisdom, love, and strength as they guide their children along the right path.

Stories of Impact

We previously shared with you the testimonies of men who were reached while living at the landfill. Today, we want to give you an update on each of their lives.

CARLOS. - For years, Carlos Sánchez lived at the landfill. After being deported to Tijuana, he became trapped in poverty, loneliness, and addiction. He lost his documents, his stability, and nearly all hope of ever having a different life.

He lived in a small cardboard shelter and survived by collecting metals, while drugs kept him enslaved. But in the very place where he felt forgotten, God found him. Where others saw a broken man, God saw a son with a calling and a purpose.

By His grace, Carlos was rescued and restored. Today, he serves as a co-pastor in Tanques, Sonora, using his testimony to lift up those who have fallen and to demonstrate that there is no darkness God cannot transform.

ARMANDO. - lived at the landfill, enslaved by drugs, alcohol, and depression. He lost his children, his family, and the desire to continue living.

One night, his home was set on fire while he was sleeping. He was rescued, but seem to be dead. In the midst of the darkness, his heart cried out, “God, give me one more chance”, and I will serve you, and to make I long story short, God answered.

Armando barely weighed 66 pounds; when he arrived at the Ranch believing that God had a new life for him.

Today, he has been serving at the mission in Tapachula for one year and has been able to reconnect with his children. The man who returned to Chiapas that should have died now lives serving and proclaiming that God’s mercy restores what once was lost.

OMAR. - Arrived in Tijuana with the desire to work and provide for his children, but he eventually found himself living at the landfill. There, he was offered drugs to help him endure long working hours. What began as good intentions, quickly became a chain that almost cost him his life.

After losing his family, he fell into deep depression and attempted to take his own life. In the midst of his desperation, he remembered Pastor Julián and sought help at La Roca. He entered the Ranch, where God healed his heart and brought new hope to his life.

After being trained as a servant, he was sent out as a missionary. Today, he serves in Sonora, bringing hope to others. The man who once wanted to die now lives proclaiming that God still restores lives.

ADRIÁN. - At only 17 years old, Adrián already knew the pain of being lost in addiction. His teenage years were marked by hardship and the difficult reality of living with his mother at the municipal landfill.

One day, he received an invitation that changed his story: an invitation to know Jesus and begin a new life. He entered the Ranch, where he found freedom, healing, and purpose.

Today, he is married to Britza. Before his mother passed away, his mother had the opportunity to see him free, restored, and was able to attend his wedding with Britza.

A few months after his wedding, his mother lost her life in an accident while leaving the landfill. Although the pain was deep, Adrián finds comfort in knowing that his mother was able to see him transformed and walking in God’s purpose.

For us, each of these stories represents much more than a testimony. They are lives we have watched rise again through the grace of God. Through La Roca Ministries, we have had the privilege of witnessing how He rescues those who are lost, heals broken hearts, and transforms pain into purpose.

Shelter. -Many of the elderly men who come to our shelter find much more than a place to live. They find a family, a home, and people who truly love them.

As time passes, some of them leave this world, but they do not leave alone. They remain with us until their final day, surrounded by love, care, and dignity, knowing that they belong to this great family.

Although their passing leaves a deep emptiness in our hearts, we thank God for allowing us to walk alongside them, serve them, and remind them that their lives are valuable and that they were never forgotten.

Let us continue believing together that God still has many stories to transform, many families to restore, and many lives to lift up.
