March 2021 Newsletter
Greeting to all!
Our new year has been very hectic but we hope all have settled in from this crazy beginning! But, believe it or not, we are already entering the third month of 2021!
It’s crazy, how time flies by so quickly, and we won’t let up!
As I have said many times, we need to stay focused on what God has called us to do! It’s easy to get distracted. This is why we must keep our eyes on Jesus!
Please pray for us!
We are tackling many dangerous enemy strongholds! In the Zona Norte. There is more here than just prostitution! There are drugs, dealers and so much more!
It’s a whole different world from what most people are used to! But this is the world God has placed us! We are working in confidence knowing what God has called us to do and knowing we have His cover and protection!
There is one place that stands out in the Zona Norte! It’s called The Black Door! There is only one way in or out! All windows are bared or blocked off, as you see in the picture! This is the place where you can find any kind of drug you might be looking for! It’s the addict’s candy store!
To get in, you must say “door” loudly! You don’t knock, again you just say out loud, “door!” Then someone will come and ask your business!
You must be ready to give them your reason for a visit! While you are talking at the door to someone below, someone else is checking you out from above, making sure you are not the police!
Many years ago, I used to go in, behind this black door, to help a family who lived there. I was not expecting to be back any time soon! But I would like to talk about two brothers we all love so much. They were with us for years at the House of Grace. Their names are Beto and Pablo!
Beto which is the older brother has stayed out of trouble and has become a hard worker! One day Beto came to church and I asked him how his brother was doing? Beto told me his brother Pablo was living and working for these drug dealers, the ones who are behind the Black Door!
Shortly after talking to Beto, God moved me to action through prayer with and my wife Rossy, and with Olga! Then after a while, I knew in my heart that l must go! There had been other times I wanted to go, but something always came up! But this time, I said: “No more!”
So I went, and while walking there, I was going through in my mind what I was going to say: “Door, I come to see fatty,” which too say, in Spanish, Gordo!
As I arrived at the front of the Black Door, ready to say aloud, “door” the door opens to my surprise, It’s Gordo just coming out. Gordo is Pablo’s nick name! He walks straight past me while I was standing almost in front of him! As he passed me, I said aloud, “Gordo!“
He turns around and says, “Hi pastor!”
I responded, “I came to visit you, where are you going!”
He said, “To the store!”
I said, “Great let me go with you and I will treat!”
He kind of did the roll of his eyes! But I didn’t hesitate, and I walked directly behind him!
I said, “Why don’t you invite me in and introduce me to your friends!”
He said quite surprised, “No! Tell you what, I will go to church and see you there!”
I said, “Are you sure?” He said, “Yes!”
“Ok, I will be waiting for you! “
I thought he just said this to get rid of me! But to my surprise, Pablo shows up to our Friday night church service! We spoke for a short time and I told him if he needed anything to please let me know, but I have to go in. “I said, are you coming in?”
He said yes, without hesitation!
Again, to my surprise, he showed up to Sunday morning service! We all welcomed him and loved him!
I asked him, “Why don’t you consider going to the ranch?”
He said he was interested but he had to pay a debt and didn’t yet have enough money! I was surprised to hear the amount! And he told me all he had was $10,000 pesos, which wasn’t enough to pay what he owned!
I told him to pray and ask the leaders to accept what he was able to put together but they would have to wait for the rest!
To my surprise he shows up again, ready to go to the ranch! To be honest, I was amazed of his willingness to return back to the ranch having taken care of his debt before coming back! To this date, a month later, Pablo is still there and doing well!
I share this story with you to show how God works and how He is good all the time! First, He places into my wife’s and Olga’s heart to pray for Pablo, and then places in my heart to act upon what God was already doing!
How can we not want to praise and serve such a good God as we have! He is the good shepherd that takes care of His sheep!
There are so many stories like this that have happened throughout the history of La Roca Ministries! But in all, it points out just how good our God is and all that He does He does so very well!
Other things happening at the ranch! We are almost done with our dam! Where now we can gather the rain waters, for the watering the plants and animals!
The chicken coop is done, and the chickens could not be any happier! We have also stated building a new small dorm for new arrives!
Giving us the capacity to receive more new internals faster! Because of the Covid, we could only receive 2 to 3 at the most in a 3 week period!
But with this new dorm, it will increase our numbers to 6 or more! That is a praise report!
Also all our animals have been such a blessing, our kids from our Orphanage love going and spending time with the animals! Such a wonder sight, seeing our kids play and feeding them! It was a great investment! A win, win situation. Praise God!
So again, we thank each one of you for being part of this family of Christ and for your prayers and support! For together, we will accomplish much!
In His Truth, Carlos and Rossy and the rest of the team!
