March 2022 Newsletter
Greetings to all our friends and family in Christ!
As we started the month of March, sadly an invasion was taking place in Ukraine by Russia!
And we can’t overlook this, so please join us in praying for the people and especially for the children of Ukraine! And all the families that have been broken up due to this Russian aggression!
With that being said, it’s hard to follow that! But the needs continue to grow here Tijuana as well as throughout the world! More stress, more uncertainties about what is going to happen next!
The little most families had, now has come to nothing! Living day by day on what they can by making and selling candy, newspapers or washing cars as they wait for the light to turn green!
Sadly, many turn to prostitution! More broken homes where fathers no longer are being responsible with their families! And sadly, many turn to drugs and alcohol to relieve the pain of these uncertain times, leaving everything behind!
Here are a couple of examples. We have a case of a 13 year old girl who was in our kids club in the Zona Norte who was sold by her mother to a much older man! Thank God, this girl spoke up and now is under police protection. Both her mother and the man are under investigation!
A young lady, a sister of two of our youth, was found dead because her involvement in prostitution! The two men that committed this crime have now been arrested!
More stories like these are filling the headlines! And that’s where La Roca comes in!
We are extending our hands and opening up doors to the many needs that come our way! We cannot help in Ukraine, but we are definitely doing our part for the needs here in Mexico!
Please keep us in your prayers that doors continue to open for us to preach Christ and meet the many needs that are at hand! Please pray that dollars continue to come in to meet these urgent needs!
We could not do it without you all! Your generous gifts are being well used for helping so many people under our care and outside on the street!
Our kids and our teens are back in school. They must have three masks per day! So that is starting to add up and lunches have skyrocketed in price! Gas here in Mexico has not hit us as hard yet, but as we know too well, it is coming here also! The cost of everything has gone through the roof! So if there is anything left over, please keep us in mind!
Sonora has been blessed with their first harvest! As the staff works hard, trying to live off the land! Our Lord God has blessed us with our own garden, allowing us to cut some food expenses by producing our own. What a praise report!
Good news, we have finally been able to send a van to Sonora! This van was so much needed! Now they have the proper vehicle to pick up the children and adults providing both with transportation!
Also we have finally purchased the property for the new church plant in Sonora! Polls and wire have been placed around the property! Hopefully soon we will start with the construction of a church building. People are excited with what the Lord is doing! This is another major praise report! God is good, Amen!
Another prayer request, we need more laborers for the field! Before we needed more ministry for all the laborers we were bringing up! But now it’s the opposite! We need more qualified people for the expansion of the ministry! We could say, this is a good problem to have with so many opportunities before us!
Also please keep us in your prayers as we move forward in renting a location for the women that are in prostitution! This will be a neutral location for the single mothers to come in with their children to get a free meal and games for the children. We will also provide free counseling and self-defense classes and so much more! If God is willing we will have this place rented soon!
So again, thank each one of you for your prayers and support. It is your prayers that continue allowing us to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ!
And again, we want to thank all our faithful team who have dedicated their lives to serving the Lord and their neighbors!
In His Love and Truth, your missionaries!
Carlos and Rossy and the rest of the team!
