Mission Trip Update
Our team of seminary students recently returned from their missionary trip to Tanques, Sonora, with hearts full of joy and gratitude for everything God allowed them to experience during that week. Their days were filled with service and the love of Christ, but above all, they witnessed how the Lord continues to work powerfully in the midst of need and pain.
One of the stories that impacted the team the most was that of Mrs. Manuela. Not long ago, both of her legs were amputated, and since then her life has completely changed. These have been difficult days, filled with pain, limitations, and moments of deep loneliness.
On Tuesday, the team went to visit her, and through tears she told them, “You are God’s answer to my prayer.” The night before, while trying to move from her wheelchair to her bed, she fell to the floor. She did everything she could to get back up, but she could not. She spent the entire night praying to the Lord for someone to come and help her.
Exhausted and without strength, our team arrived shortly afterward. We were the answer to her prayer.
Another life that deeply touched the team was that of Mr. Nicolás. During the visit to his home, as they began reading the Word of God to him, he started to cry. Deeply moved, he encouraged the seminarians by telling them that now that they are able to read, they should do so with love and value that privilege, having no limitations preventing them from doing so.
Because of his financial situation, he does not have glasses. Even so, the team was amazed by how much he knew of the Word of God. He remembered stories, passages, and verses that still remain stored in his memory and in his heart. With hope, he shared that his greatest desire is to one day be able to read the Bible again by himself. We have taken it upon ourselves to buy his glasses so that his heartfelt desire may be fulfilled.
There was also something that deeply moved the team: many elderly people in the community live alone. For them, receiving a visit, having someone to talk to, and feeling heard brings them immense joy. In every conversation, every prayer, and every moment shared, it became evident how much they need companionship, affection, and attention.
But there was also something that deeply broke the team’s hearts: seeing the need and spiritual hunger that children and young people have to hear the Word of God. Some of them walk long distances under the hot sun, despite exhaustion, just to reach our facilities and hear about Jesus.
Despite the difficulties they face day after day, they continue coming with enthusiasm, open hearts, and a desire to learn more about God. They are children and young people in need of love, attention, and comfort. In every lesson, every hug, and every shared moment, we can see how their hearts are touched as they feel loved, heard, and discover that they have a God who loves them deeply and never abandons them.
That is what encourages them to continue seeking more of God, drawing near to His Word, and believing that there is a purpose for their lives.
These encounters deeply touched the hearts of our seminarians. In the midst of need, pain, and tears, they were able to witness the faithfulness, care, and love of God manifested in such a real and personal way.
And just as God spoke to the lives of our seminarians during this trip, He can also touch your life. You too can be part of what He is doing and help His Kingdom continue spreading throughout the communities of Sonora.
We invite you to continue keeping this ministry and each of these families in your prayers. Pray that God will continue transforming lives, bringing comfort, and lifting up hearts in need of His love.
And if at some point God places it on your heart to come and serve, we want you to know that the doors are always open. There are communities waiting to hear about Jesus and hearts ready to receive His message. Just as our seminarians were blessed and transformed, we believe that God can also use and transform your life through this ministry.
House of Grace
Our family continues to grow. Three teenagers have recently arrived who, at such a young age, have already gone through deeply painful experiences.
They are part of a family of six siblings, but after the loss of their parents a few years ago, their lives changed completely. Since then, they have been under the care of their aunt, who has done everything possible for them. However, economic difficulties have made it increasingly hard for her to provide everything they need.
With great love and guidance, she made the decision in faith to seek help, trusting that God would open doors and never abandon those who trust in Him. Her deepest desire was to find a place that would offer care, support, safety, and where all three of her nephews could stay together. She knew it would not be easy to find such a place, but with God nothing is impossible.
Then God did the impossible. He placed them in our path, and we were able to open our doors to them with love and care. What a wonderful testimony of God’s faithfulness!
Your support, prayers, and willingness to partner with us are a deeply valuable part of this work, and we are sincerely grateful. Every act of encouragement, every word of support, and every prayer strengthens us and moves us forward with renewed hope and faith, trusting that God is making a way everywhere He allows us to serve.
It is a great privilege to serve and to share what God is doing, and we do not take it for granted. We recognize with gratitude that this work would not be possible without God’s people joining together with one heart and one faith in the One who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light.
Thank you to everyone who prays, supports, and is part of this mission. Every prayer, every effort, and every act of love is being used by God to change lives and bring His light where it is needed most.
In His Love, Carlos & Rossy and the rest of the La Roca Team
